Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Hindu Bhakti Sangrah is published by Mrutyunjay Studio. For any privacy question or request, contact welldayreview@gmail.com. We aim to reply within 30 days.
2. What we collect, and only when

3. What we do not collect
- On iOS: no advertising identifiers and no advertising SDK. Advertising on Android is described below.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and no usage tracking.
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, or call data. The app requests none of these permissions.
- No payment information. The app is free and contains no purchases.
The Android app requests INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (for the optional cloud sync), WAKE_LOCK (to keep the screen on while a hymn is being recited aloud), and the advertising identifier permissions that the Google Mobile Ads SDK adds — AD_ID and the Android Ad Services permissions. The iOS app requests none of these.
Advertising
The apps show ads supplied by Google AdMob (Google LLC): a banner on some screens, and occasionally a full-screen ad. To serve them, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects your device's advertising identifier and information about the ads you are shown. Where the law requires consent, the app asks for it through Google's own consent form before any personalised ad is requested, and you can change that choice at any time from the app's privacy options. Ads never receive your name, email address, saved hymns or anything you post.
4. Using the app without an account
Choosing “Continue as guest” means no account is created and nothing is sent to our database. Every aarti, chalisa, mantra, the complete Sunderkand and every vrat katha is bundled inside the app and readable with no network connection at all. Guests can read and listen to everything; only liking, commenting and cloud backup require signing in.
5. Text-to-speech
Audio recitation uses the speech engine already installed on your device (commonly Google Text-to-Speech). To read a hymn aloud, the app passes that hymn's text to that engine. That engine is governed by its own provider's privacy policy, not ours. We send no audio or text to any server of our own for this.
6. Where your data is stored
If you sign in, your account details, saved hymns, likes and posts are stored in Google Firebase (Authentication and Realtime Database), operated by Google LLC. Our database instance is hosted in the asia-southeast1 region (Singapore). Access is restricted by database rules so that only you can read or write the data under your own account; comments and Chintan posts are readable by everyone, which is their purpose.
7. Third parties
- Google Sign-In and Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication and data storage. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Sign in with Apple (Apple Inc.) — authentication in the iOS app. If you choose “Hide My Email”, we only ever receive Apple’s relay address, never your real one. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob (Google LLC) — advertising. See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- Google Play and the Apple App Store distribute the apps and give us aggregate install statistics; we receive no personal data from either.
We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we never share it with anyone beyond the services listed above. Your account details, saved hymns, likes and posts are never passed to advertisers and are never used to profile you; the advertising described earlier is handled entirely by Google AdMob and receives none of that data.
8. How long we keep it
Account data and saved hymns are kept for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and they are removed immediately — see section 9. Comments and Chintan posts you have written are deleted along with your account. Data held only on your device disappears when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
9. Your rights and how to exercise them
- Access and portability — email us and we will send you a copy of the data associated with your account.
- Correction — your name and photo come from your Google account; changing them there updates them here on your next sign-in.
- Deletion — delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time, from inside the app: Profile → Account actions → Delete my account. Full instructions, including how to request deletion without the app, are on our account deletion page.
- Withdrawing consent — sign out at any time. The app keeps working, offline, as a guest.
10. Children
The app is suitable for all ages and contains no ads or purchases. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Because signing in requires a Google account, account creation is subject to Google's own age requirements. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
11. Security
All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Sign-in tokens are stored in the app's private storage on your device and are excluded from device backups. Database rules restrict every write to the account that owns the data. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not store passwords at all — authentication is handled entirely by Google.
12. This website
This site is a read-only reader. It has no sign-in, sets no cookies, and runs no analytics. It stores exactly two values in your browser's local storage — your chosen language and light/dark theme — which never leave your browser.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and — for any change that materially affects how your data is handled — we will notify you inside the app before the change takes effect.
